MICHAEL and Carmelle's case:
1) A person is driving in a car and throws his lit cigarette out the window. The cigarette lands on the bushes in front of the building and they catch on fire and burns down. (lol)
2)He must pay for the damages. It's on private property. If the bushes are not on private property than he doesnt have to pay$.
3)If he threw it and drove off fast and a different person who was standing near the bushes would have to pay 4 everything b/c he was there.
4)The man who threw isnt being seen anymore so no1 can prove he did it
5) Why should he pay if he was teh witness not the criminal??

The person who threw is stupid and shouldnt throw things out the window cuz its litering.
I think ther should be further investigation before they immediately accuse the witness.
The person who threw the cigarette has to pay for the damages even if someone is closer than he is
nadiney...tyhanks for commenting!!!
but what if they can't catch the victim...evan???
He shouldn't have to pay (the guy by the bushes)!!!! These police need to be better at examining the crime. The guy by the bush should have gotten the license number of the person in the car.
If it is puvlic property than who would pay. the damages should/have to be taken care of especially if the fire spreads.
Well first of all it is illegal to throw things out of a window. So the man with the cigarette is at fault. Next time he wants to smoke he should think.
I meant to write "public" not "puvlic"
but wut if the guy had asma and had 2 thro it out the window or else hed cough 2 death
In the first case it is the cigarette person has to pay because she shouldn't through it out of the window.
Jake and Seth
Rabbi Julie asks if the person who threw the cigarette sccidentally dropped it? would he then still have to pay? Or maybe the person who owned the bushes did not cut them back. Therefore, they were too close to the street.
1) What if he throws the cigarette and it wasn't going to hit the bush but somebody drove by really fast and the exhaust pushed the cigarette towards the bush?
2)What if some kagillionare buys the whole city and the person who owns the building pays rent-then there must be an exception because there is no public property. He shouldn't have to pay the kagillionare should because he made them vulnerable to pay
3)What if the guy was a homeless man who couldn't afford cigarettes? He can't oay because he obviously didnt smoke but also he doesnt have the money
4)They can take fingerprints from the cigarette
5)He shouldn't!
In general what if the man can't afford the damages?
The idiot who threw the cigarette should be prosecuted. If you started it, you are guilty. Who gives a **** about the dude who was near the incident? During 9/11, if i was standing near the twin towers, would i be guilty for the crime? I dont think so.
I agree with Joseph
rav ginsy says that nobody cares and thet hes been commenting tooo much and is very bored.
