Betsy was getting ready to go to an Oriental ball. She realized that she didnt have a dress to wear. She borrowed a dress from her friends Shi Shi Ling Long Ti Wan Po. As Betsy puts on the dress, it rips.
Is she obligated to pay for a new dress?
-If the dress was already ripped, she doesn't have to pay for it.
-Maybe she didnt know the dress was ripped.
-Maybe Betsy was to big for the dress, so she ripped it.

but what if the dress was already ripped and her friend didnt tell her about it? maybe her friend wanted her to look bad or be imbarraced at the ball!
i agree w/max. if she was the one who ripped it, then she is obligated. but what if the dress was ripped in the first place and the person who lent it to her knew it, but she wanted the other person to rip it then pay for it?

Well if it were already rip wouldn't then Shi Shi Ling Long Ti Wan Po should have told Betsy, and then if it were ripped when Betsy got it, and she ripped it more, then she pays for what she did.
