Betcha've never heard THIS one before!!!

There are two men who are both in need of a liver transplant. One is a doctor, the other is an alcoholic. The doctor has no family, but is responsible for the lives of most of the people in the hospital he works at. The alcoholic has a loving family, and has already had a liver transplant before. He also has been on the waiting list for a transplant for a longer time than the doctor.

Y'all know the story. Or at least you should from Mrs. Bornstein's class.

Who do YOU think should get the liver???

Hunter partner gets shot! oh my...

A guy goes hunting in the wilderness with his shotgun. He has a hunting partner with him to scout for some game. As they are scouting the area, they notice somethign moving in a bush. The guy with the shotgun says that they should wait until it reveals itself and then blow its head off. However, his scouting friend starts yelling, "Shoot it!! Shoot it now!! Go! Oh my gosh, shoot it!!"

Under the intense moment, the guy with the shotgun fires at the bush. He sees the head of a man roll out of the bush and its covered in blood. The guy with the shotgun killed a hiker in the bush.

Who is responsible?

War or no war

there is a war going on.

...

DUE TO PEOPLE'S OVERALL STUPIDITY, THIS POST HAS BEEN REMOVED.

MOVING ON...

Drinking and Driving Is A No No!

What if a car's fuel tank breaks a leak all of a sudden and bursts into flame. The car was parked next to a local bar full of people (and alcohol which is flamable) which later caught fire and caused a good amount of damage. The car was tuned up a week before. Who is responsible? The driver or the Mechanic?

The driver should have noticed there was a leak...
But the mechanic should have checked that in the tune-up last week...

What if?

One day, a guy named Gary goes to his friend, Larry's house for lunch. Larry has mice problems and just laid out some rat poison. On accident, some rat poison falls into Gary's meal and Gary dies. Larry is charged for manslaughter.

sarah's

A man is having construction on half of his house. If a brick falls and crushes the other half of the house the builders have to pay. If it falls on the neighbors house then the owner of the house has to pay because he was the one who was having construction.

Lighter fluid + hanukia = FIIRE!!!!

A person has his hanukia on his window sill. A truck with a load of lighter fluid covered by a layer of hay drives by and catches fire. As the driver is going he doesn't realize he is on fire. when he realizes he is on fire he crashes into a school full of children and explodes. There are no survivors.... Who is responsible???
A Jewish slave as worked his quota but his master wont let him go free.

Stayin alive

A homeless person is about to freeze. He makes a small fire to keep himself warm. A car comes by and gasoline is leaking. A fire breaks out and starts a giant forest fire. Whos fault is it?
I think its the cars.

Camel Problem

Let say there are two store guys:

Store guy1 Store Guy 2

Store guy 1 gives store guy 2 candle to borrow so that he can show there is a hole in between their stores.( The candle belongs to store guy 1) Then a camel comes by and has flax on its back. The flax sets on fire causing the camel to run into to store guy 1's store setting it one fire. WHO HAS TO PAY?

a) store guy 1 b) store guy 2 c) camel owner

Yael's Dog

Yael's dog ran through mud, then the dog went to the neighbors house, who opened theb dor for the dog, and got mud all over the expensive Persian rug. Is Yael responsible?

"Drive back baby to me fast in your car / I'm here waiting / Crash into me real hard." - Gwen Stefani (aka, our memrah)

There is an intersection, and one way there's a green light and the other a red one.
A car in the green light lane is going through...
But so is somebody in the red light lane.

They crash.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?!?!?!

Sarah D's

A guy is walking in the street and he spills some oil that he was carrying and it is now all in the street. A car is then driving by and he skids on the oil. The car had not had good brakes and the driver knows this but didn't do anything about it. The car skids into a house and wrecks it. Whose fault is it.

By Jake And Joey

If a man sees his child hurting someone physically should he stop his child by force or should he let his child continue to hurt that person.

Adding to Rabbi Marshmallows

What if your Shabbat candles are in the window and they set the town on fire? Do they too get an exemption.

Eytan

Rabbi Marshmallow has a question!!!

Why does the Chanukiah get so many exeptions? What if the lights from the Chanukiah destroy an ENTIRE city and make everyone poor and starving? Is the guy with the Chanukiah (that started the fire) still exempt?

Love ya! Leah (a.k.a. Rabbi Marshmallow

Halachic Problem

I am going to be going to England this summer to play soccer. I will be going with a group of boys who aren't Jewish and therefore don't keep kosher. We will be taking long bus rides from place to place, and on the way stop for food at unkosher restaurants.

Is it halachicly incorrect to eat food that isn't cooked kosher but there is nothing wrong with it if it is the only food I can eat.

The funny pick-up truck

1st situation:
There was a pick-up truck carryiong wood planks. The planks fell out and ended up all over the road. due to the planks falling out, a car was hit and the person inside died.
Is the pick-up truck's owner guilty or not?

2nd situation:
A car on it's way to orlando crashes into the truck carrying wood planks. The planks fall on the car and the driver dies. After that another car hits the wreckage of the pick-up truck and the first car. The man inside blows up, and dies.
Whos fault is it?

Avi and kind of zane's

1) A guy is driving in a car. One of his car parts falls off in the middle of the street. Someone else is drving and hits the part and gets into a costly car crash.

- The guy whose car part fell off must pay for the damages because he did not check take care of his car.

- If the guy who hit the paret was drunk or just a bad driver, then he must pay for the damages and the other guy is exempt

Jake and Seths Case

If a pitcher pitches the ball and the batter hits it into the window and breaks the window and nocks over the chanukia and lights the store on fire is the batter obligated to pay for the damages in the store. The legal law is that the batter has to pay. An alternative to this is if there is no window then the store owner must pay. It is the batters fault when there is a window because he has control 0f the ball. If there is no window then the owner of the store must pay because he is not trying to protect the chanukia. Rabbi Jake says that maybe the batter didn't have control of the ball. If the baseball players are outside of 1000 feet away from the store the Rabbis will be more leniant. If they are within 10 feet of the store the rabbis are stricter.

Gabe and Evan

If a tree cutting service truck is passing by a steel making factory, and the logs on the back fall out into the steel factory and a spark from making the steel catches onto the logs and starts a fire, then the truck driver is obligated to pay for the damages. If the truck is driving and they are hammering outside and a spark flies onto the truck and ignites the logs, the person hammering has to pay.

Shi Shi Ling Long Ti Wan Po

Betsy was getting ready to go to an Oriental ball. She realized that she didnt have a dress to wear. She borrowed a dress from her friends Shi Shi Ling Long Ti Wan Po. As Betsy puts on the dress, it rips.

Is she obligated to pay for a new dress?

-If the dress was already ripped, she doesn't have to pay for it.

-Maybe she didnt know the dress was ripped.

-Maybe Betsy was to big for the dress, so she ripped it.

qwertyuioasdfgh --- car case

MICHAEL and Carmelle's case:
1) A person is driving in a car and throws his lit cigarette out the window. The cigarette lands on the bushes in front of the building and they catch on fire and burns down. (lol)

2)He must pay for the damages. It's on private property. If the bushes are not on private property than he doesnt have to pay$.

3)If he threw it and drove off fast and a different person who was standing near the bushes would have to pay 4 everything b/c he was there.

4)The man who threw isnt being seen anymore so no1 can prove he did it

5) Why should he pay if he was teh witness not the criminal??

Group 'ג

Case: A camel overflowing with flax is going through the marketplace and catches fire with the lamp of a storeowner left around the marketplace, and damages the store next door. The storeowner is obligated to pay for the damages.

Something similar: Dominoes
Memrot:
Poseket: law is whoever sets up the dominoes takes the credit
Alternative: If he had a partner then the credit is split the same as the workload.
Reasoning: The person who set it up made the awesomeness.
Adding: If someone adds to the end and makes it at least twice as good as it was originally then he gets all the credit.
Ukimtah: What if the additions were better in one person's opinion but not in someone elses?

Cases to be Maykel (lenient): If he used other materials to "transfer" the fall or made bridges he gets more credit.

Cases to be Machmir (strict): If he used heavier dominoes so they would fall easier then he gets less credit.

nadine and maxs windowcutter

A windowmaker was cutting glass windows when a piece of glass flies and hits someone. rabbi chi says he is responsible for the damage.
but, someone distracted the windowcutter and made him fling the glass at the person. Rabbi Housegreen says the distractor has to pay for the damages. Rabbi Lopalopalopalopalopa says the distractor had tourrettes. Rabbi Elronchickenbofonvinderlander says he should have taken his medicine!!!

Mai Chanukah- Julie, Sarah Q, and Leah

CASE: Someone driving and talking on their cellphone. They drive into the car in front of them, which hits the car in front of THEM.

THE LAW: Rabbi Marshmallow says that the cellphone driver is obligated to pay for the damages.

LENIENT OR NOT: The person is talking on the phone because his wife is having problems breathing.

REASON: If he does not call (911) his wife might die.

ATTACK: How do we decide if it was a life-threatening circumstance for his wife?

STRICT (MORE OR LESS):
strict: what if the person he hits ends up dying? (from the accident)
less: It is a life threatening circumstance or she has passed out.

Julie and Sarah Q. and Leah wish you HAPPY CHANUKAH!!!! (today's Leah's birthday!!!)

Chanukah lights in Public Property that Damages...

Camel overloaded with flax that knocks over a Chanukah candle of a store owner...
What is the law if the store owner placed the Chanukah candles inside?
What is the law if the store owner placed the Chanukah candles outside his store?
What is the reason for either case?
